YBR PREMIUM PORTFOLIO

Stock trading can be tough!

At the beginning of the week, we decided to buy puts on a couple of stocks that had exploded at the end of 2023 - $CVNA and $AFRM.

So we bought the $46.50 $AFRM puts when $AFRM was $46.56 and $49 $CVNA puts when it was $49.05. $AFRM fell to $43 (-7.5%) and $CVNA fell to $46.87 (-4.4%).

So it went great, right?

Wrong!

I had set stop losses 20% below the price I bought each put at and both of the stop losses ended up getting hit within a couple of hours after I placed the trade. So we ended up losing ~$100 on those two options instead of making over 50% on each one if those stops weren’t hit.

And it was all because I set my stops a little too tight.

On the bright side, I also bought the same $AFRM puts in my personal account, but set my stop loss to -30% instead of -20%. This stop loss didn’t get hit and I made 51%.

But that wasn’t all.

In my CEO Watcher Premium email on Wednesday, I highlighted this $ZIVO insider purchase as the top insider purchase that day (and the top-rated insider purchase of the whole week actually).

But when I went to go buy it for our Premium Portfolio, I wasn’t able to because this is an OTC stock that doesn’t trade on Robinhood!

And of course, the next day it popped nearly 100% from the $1.48 price when we sent out the CEO Watcher Premium email.

All in all, these misfortunes caused the YBR Premium Portfolio to miss out on $500-$600 in gains this week.

But as I’ve said, we’ll either turn my $10k into $100k copying the stock ideas from the Yellowbrick Road and CEO Watcher Premium, or we’ll just laugh at me while I fail!

Both are entertaining!
